About the festival
ArtsiX is a world-first art + music festival, bringing together a diverse group of 21 artists and musicians from all over Australia for 5 days (11th to 15th September, 2023).
Each artwork in the Portals collection was produced in a single day and is a collaboration between two artists & two musicians.
The aim of the festival is to inspire participating artists of all kinds to experiment with emerging digital media and technologies.
You can support the festival and the artists by purchasing an artwork.

King Jarrah
Opening up to reality, an openness, a space that seems half filled.

Worlds Collide
Death becomes life.

Third Eye
The portal is the third eye/mind’s eye. A portal into the subconscious and inner being. Shed your skin. Portal into yourself and figure out who you are.

Seeds
The smallest seed of an idea can grow. It can grow to define or destroy you.

This Moment
Meditative experience inviting the listener/viewer to enter into their own portal of relaxation as we welcome them to our watergarden.

Forever Falling
A collaboration inspired by Lowie’s cultural practice and sand art. Forever Falling fuses traditional knowledge with the chaos of modern life. In this case musicians Tom Allum and Felicity Groom create a journey from ambient to electronic glitch wave while 3D animator Tom Berard works infinite fractal animations upon drone footage.

Perception
What you think, you become. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you create. Buddha.

Exhale Slow
Calm yourself. Calm your thoughts. Quiet your mind. Breathe in deep. Exhale Slow. Ready your lungs. Dive…

Falling Through
Lovers falling into destruction over and over but are unable to get out.

Outta Here
Transition mono to colour, from Kanzas to yellow brick road, growth from hard and painful stepping out from pain to a magical ever expanding world.

Home
Human connection can open a portal. Entanglement with another spirit unlocking a new portal.

Choices
Being comfortable with your current choice and not looking for change. Not stepping onto the portal and standing by the choice you’ve chosen.

Where the River Meets the Sea
Idea of longing for rebirth but the process can difficult like going through the eye of a needle in a haystack.
